ASPIRATIONAL CLUB 100 PROJECTS

The purpose of this page is to update our members on ongoing and upcoming initiatives at Brynhill Golf Club.

The projects outlined here are not guaranteed to proceed; rather, they represent our aspirations to enhance the facilities for the betterment of both our members and staff's well-being. These projects fall outside the scope of our regular club budgets. However, by harnessing the potential of the 100 club, we have the opportunity to secure the necessary funds and progress through this list of projects. Our goal is to elevate the overall experience for our members and for those who will visit our club in the future.

SMALL LAKE ON THE 18th WITH WATER FEATURE

LOCATION: Far side of the 18th Green

PROJECT DETAILS: To install a pond / small lake in the waste area section to the left of the 18th green. The lake will also have a noticeable water feature.

TIMEFRAME: 1 month after funding achieved

COST: £15k

PROJECT PLAN: We are excited to share plans for an exceptional new feature at Brynhill Golf Club—a beautifully landscaped lake with a striking water fountain located just in front of the clubhouse, at the far side of the 18th green. This addition is more than just a visual upgrade; it’s a unique enhancement that will elevate the experience for both members and visitors.

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER? A Beautiful Ambience for All - Picture yourself sitting on the clubhouse patio, enjoying a coffee or post-round drink, with the serene sound of the water fountain in the background. The lake will also add a scenic element for wedding guests and event attendees, creating a picturesque backdrop for photos and celebrations.

A ‘Wow’ Factor for Visitors
As visitors arrive and stand on the 1st tee, they will be greeted by the sight of the lake and fountain, setting the tone for an exceptional day of golf. This feature will become an iconic part of Brynhill, something that sets us apart and makes every visit memorable.

Increased Revenue Opportunities
Weddings, corporate events, and private parties will be more attracted to our venue thanks to this stunning water feature. With the lake and fountain visible from the clubhouse, it will enhance the appeal of our function space, helping us secure more bookings and generate more revenue. The added beauty will make Brynhill a sought-after destination for special occasions.

Talking Point for Members and Visitors
Beyond the aesthetics, the lake will become a feature that golfers and visitors will talk about, adding to the club’s prestige and creating a lasting impression on those who play or attend eve

By adding this lake and fountain, we are investing in the future of Brynhill—enhancing both the beauty of our club and its financial sustainability.

COURSE STAFF PORTA-CABIN / COURSE MANAGERS SITE OFFICE

LOCATION: Greenkeepers / Course maintenance area / Shed

PROJECT DETAILS: Our current greenkeepers' shed no longer meets the necessary standards for staff facilities, health, and safety. It's time for an upgrade. We've prepared a flat area measuring 24ft x 8ft in a prime location near the shed. Our plan is to acquire a pre-owned Portacabin that features toilet and kitchen facilities, along with a small office for the course manager. This strategic move will free up more space in the shed, allowing it to serve its primary purpose – storing equipment.

Our dedicated staff deserves better. The new Portacabin will provide them with suitable facilities for breaks, consuming food, access to toilets, and handwashing. Moreover, during the winter months, they'll have a suitable space to warm up and dry their clothes.

As we move forward, we envision enhancing the Portacabin's appearance by cladding it and adding a touch of charm. Imagine a stylish sign that reads "Course Manager's Office," a symbol of the professionalism we strive for. With this transformation, we're not just improving a space – we're elevating our commitment to our staff's well-being and the quality of our operations. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on this project!

TIMEFRAME: 14 days after funding target achieved

COST: £7K to purchase

PLAN: We are in touch with several suppliers of this type of facility as well as keeping an eye on E-bay for suitable 2nd hand sales. The base has already been created so when the funds are in place we will be ready to make a purchase.

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER: This initiative is set to establish an enhanced, safer, and more appropriate environment for our esteemed course staff. In line with our Health & Safety obligations, we recognise the need for an office space for the course manager and improved facilities. Our dedicated course staff truly deserve upgraded and safer facilities that align with their operational needs. Our objective is to cultivate an improved work setting, promoting a cohesive team ethos and boosting morale. With these enhancements, we're committed to fostering a positive working environment that not only meets but exceeds our staff's expectations.

BAR STAFF UNIFORM

LOCATION: Clubhouse

PROJECT DETAILS: Our current bar staff have no set uniform. As a club we are not only serving drinks to members and visitors but also to clients from wakes, weddings, parties and other external events. As a club we should be seen to present a certain standard and image whilst serving paying customers. It is also more fair to our employees who currently wear their own clothes to perform their work duties.

TIMEFRAME: 14 days after funding target achieved

COST: £600 - £800

PLAN: We have several suppliers to go to for a branded / embroidered uniform so we will negotiate and purchase best value / quality solution

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER: Implementing a branded uniform for the bar staff at the golf club can offer several benefits:

  1. Professionalism: A branded uniform presents a polished and consistent image, conveying professionalism to club members, guests, and visitors.

  2. Branding and Identity: The uniform serves as a walking advertisement for the golf club, reinforcing its brand and creating a strong visual identity.

  3. Cohesiveness: Uniforms promote a sense of unity among the staff, fostering team spirit and a sense of belonging.

  4. Customer Trust: A well-dressed staff instills confidence and trust among customers, enhancing their overall experience.

  5. Recognition: Branded uniforms make staff easily recognizable, allowing members and guests to identify whom to approach for service.

  6. Consistency: Uniforms eliminate personal dress variations, maintaining a consistent appearance that aligns with the club's image.

  7. Customer Service: A professional appearance can positively influence interactions with customers, enhancing their perception of service quality.

  8. Guest Experience: Branded uniforms contribute to an elevated guest experience, ensuring they receive attentive and high-quality service.

  9. Differentiation: A uniform helps distinguish bar staff from other club visitors, maintaining an organized environment.

  10. Marketing Opportunity: Uniforms can feature promotional elements, helping to market club events, specials, or other offerings.

Overall, introducing a branded uniform for bar staff at the golf club not only improves their appearance but also enhances customer satisfaction, reinforces the club's identity, and contributes to a positive and memorable experience for all.

PLAYERS / SIGN IN AREA

LOCATION: Within Clubhouse

PROJECT DETAILS: As you might be aware, our Club Systems PSI machine, positioned in the “players room” near the rear entry to the locker room adjacent to the notice boards and scorecard boxes, has been experiencing technical difficulties. This aging hardware frequently freezes, causing frustration among players attempting to log their scores and sign in, particularly following competitions on the weekend.

After a productive discussion with the club Systems company, I am enthusiastic about the prospect of upgrading this setup with a modern 22” touch screen display to be mounted on the wall. In tandem with this improvement, I aim to enhance the space into a more inviting "players area," with a refreshed felt covering layout for the notice boards and potential new scorecard boxes and a decorative overhaul of the area in general including a logo branded entrance floor matt.

The wall designated for the prospective screen installation presents an opportunity for an eye-catching feature wall, as depicted in the attached mock-up image below. Given that nearly every club member and potential visitors will utilise this area, its aesthetic appeal is of utmost importance.

Opting for a 22” wall-mounted touch screen offers several benefits. Regular software updates will keep it current, and the user experience for our members will be significantly improved as its faster and much easier to operate.

TIMEFRAME: 7 days after funding target reached

COST: The cost of implementing the 22” wall-mounted screen amounts to £1495, plus VAT. Additionally, the expenses associated with redecoration, including new boxes, decorating and signage, are projected at £1,250. As a result, the total expenditure is estimated at £2,044

PLAN: The following works will be carried out..

  • All walls will be nicely and tastefully covered with a new wall covering.

  • I want to remove the notice board on the left hand wall as this isn’t used.

  • I want to install the 22” wall mounted touch screen on this wall at eye level and make it a feature wall with our club logo.

  • I also want to paint and re-felt the 2 remaining notice boards and install two brand new scorecard boxes for both the seniors competition and general competitions.

  • Broken and missing ceiling tiles to be replaced and boxing in of pipework and cables

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER: Opting for a 22” wall-mounted touch screen offers several benefits. Regular software updates will keep it current, and the user experience for our members will be significantly improved as its faster and much easier to operate. The space in general is used by every member.

ENTRANCE / FOYER WINDOW DECALS

LOCATION: Clubhouse

PROJECT DETAILS: Our current entrance is not looking the best at the moment. Particularly the glass fronted section where you can see straight through to a low grade interior which isn’t creating a great first impression for visitors / members. Whilst we are prioritising allocating funds elsewhere at present the best solution is a nice window tint at the entrance. We would like to tint the glass so you cannot see through and have a nice Brynhill window logo displayed.

TIMEFRAME: 14 days after funding target achieved

COST: £250

PLAN: We have sourced a supplier and fitter ready to implement this project.

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER: By tinting the windows at the entrance we will provide a more aesthetic entrance and create a better first impression. We can hide the poor decor on the other side of the glass and show off our brand with a nice logo that everyone can see as they walk in to the clubhouse. The before and after images below demonstrate the look we would like to achieve.

ON-COURSE AED HALFWAY HOUSE

LOCATION: COREYS CORNER

PROJECT DETAILS: An Automated Emergency Defibrillator (AED) is a life-saving device used to restore a normal heart rhythm during a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) event. SCA can happen to anyone, regardless of age or physical fitness level, and it often occurs without warning. By having an AED readily available on the golf course, we can significantly increase the chances of saving lives in the event of such emergencies. Due to the fact that this is an on-course AED there are certain factors that make it more expensive. One of these is the fact that the AED needs power to keep it charged. Our solution to this is to install a solar panel on the roof of Coreys Corner half way house which will run the AED that will be fixed to the wall.

TIMEFRAME: Completion October 2023

COST: The cost of implementing a wall mounted AED is circa £2,000

PLAN: The following works will be carried out..

  • Wall mounted installation of AED

WHAT WILL THIS DELIVER:

Benefits For Each And Every Member:

  1. Prompt and Effective Response: Time is of the essence in a cardiac emergency. Having an on-course AED ensures that immediate medical attention can be provided while waiting for professional help to arrive. It could be the difference between life and death, and having this resource close by offers peace of mind to both our members and their families.

  2. Accessible and Convenient: Golf is a sport that requires physical exertion and can occasionally push our bodies to their limits. While we have a team of skilled staff and first aid kits on-site, having an AED directly on the course ensures even quicker access to life-saving treatment should the need arise. It offers an added layer of safety that all members can benefit from during their time on the green.

  3. Member's Life-Saving Potential: Apart from providing immediate aid to others, the presence of an on-course AED also holds the potential to save your own life or the life of a fellow golfer you may be playing with. It's a sobering reality, but sudden cardiac arrests can occur without warning. By supporting this initiative, you are investing in your own well-being and that of your fellow members.
