DIRECTOR OF GOLF APPOINTMENT

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Leon Warne (PGA Professional) as the Director Of Golf Brynhill Golf Club.

Leon's confirmation marks an exciting new chapter for our club, and we couldn't be more delighted to welcome him back to his roots.

Having grown up in Barry and honed his skills at Brynhill as a Junior Golfer, Leon brings over 30 years of invaluable experience to our club. His journey began in 1992 as the Head Assistant Professional at Peterstone Lakes Golf Club, swiftly followed by a prestigious role at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, where he contributed to the preparation and execution of high-profile events, including the Walker Cup.

In 1997, Leon's talent led him to become the Head Professional at The Grove Golf Club, where he became the youngest PGA Professional in Wales to assume such a role. His dedication and expertise shone through during his 20-year tenure before he moved to Pontypool Golf Club as Head Professional. There, he spearheaded the development of an indoor golf academy business, offering custom fitting services and elite coaching.

Leon's remarkable career is further underscored by numerous accolades, including recognition for his outstanding contributions to Junior Golf development. He has also made his mark as a player with accolades in Junior golf and West region PGA events.

With a wealth of experience in managing top-tier professional shops, Leon's addition to Brynhill Golf Club promises to elevate our member experience to new heights. Notably, Leon has been recognised by Ping for his exceptional work as an elite fitting centre, demonstrating his proficiency in providing tailored equipment solutions. His adept management of a thriving golf shop, complete with the latest equipment, shoes, clothing, and accessories, speaks volumes about his dedication to delivering excellence to club members and visitors alike.

As previously mentioned, Leon played a pivotal role in establishing the indoor golf academy at Pontypool Golf Club, underscoring his commitment to innovation and player development. In appointing Leon as the Director Of Golf, we aim to leverage his wealth of experience to enhance our club offerings.

With Leon at the helm, members and visitors alike can look forward to access to a fully stocked pro shop, complemented by a club fitting service and top-notch coaching. His vision and expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of our indoor academy and help elevate Brynhill Golf Club to a new level.

The positive developments continue! In our quest for a new Director Of Golf, it was paramount for us to ensure continuity and uphold the valuable contributions of our existing PGA Pro, Jordan Taylor. Recognising Jordan's exceptional coaching abilities and unwavering passion for golf, the club was steadfast in our commitment to retaining his talents.

We are thrilled to share that Leon wholeheartedly acknowledges Jordan's expertise and is excited to integrate him into the fabric of the shop, academy, and club by personally employing Jordan. Please join me in extending heartfelt congratulations to Jordan on his new appointment. We are delighted that he will continue to play an integral role in our club's journey forward, contributing his skills and enthusiasm to enriching the golfing experience for our members and visitors.

Leon has provided 90 days' notice to conclude his tenure at Pontypool Golf Club, and we know he will maintain the same level of professionalism and dedication to serving their members and visitors until his departure. With this transition in mind, Leon is scheduled to join us at the beginning of June.

During this interim period, Jordan will continue in his role as usual, ensuring a seamless continuity of service until Leon assumes his new position in June. We appreciate Jordan's commitment during this time of transition, and we look forward to welcoming Leon to our team and embracing the fresh perspectives and experiences he brings to Brynhill Golf Club.

It is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I step into the role of Director Of Golf at Brynhill Golf Club. It’s been great to hear all the positive work that’s gone on in the recent year at Brynhill. 

 I am deeply honoured to be given this role and to be entrusted with this responsibility at a golf club where It all began for me as a junior golfer. 

I look forward to meeting you all and serving each and every one of you with the utmost professionalism and commitment. 

My goal is to enhance the experience for all members, whether through personalised instruction, organising exciting events, or simply being a reliable resource for all your golfing needs.

 Brynhill is also very lucky to have Jordan Taylor as a PGA Professional who is fast gaining a reputation as an excellent teacher. I look forward to working alongside Jordan in building a first class golf academy at Brynhill Golf Club.
